William, as I recall, your computer is a 64 bit system is it not? In doing some researching as a result of the problems I was having with GTR2 crashing to desktop with large grids of cars, I discovered that GTR2 was designed to work on 32 bit operating systems. That meant that the upper limit of memory that the game could access was around 2GB. With 64 bit OS's it is now possible to access 4GB of memory and that of course means that those large grids no longer cause crashes. All one has to do is download a different GTR2.exe file that can access the additional memory. Now what does that have to do with us??? As it turns out, Rfactor has the exact same limitation as GTR2, and there is also a 4GB patch for Rfactor. The mods we are using obviously are not bumping up against the memory limit, but that is not to say that we will never run into that problem. I am going to download and test the 4GB patch tonight and see how it works on one of my systems. I will let you know if there are any problems with it.
