Salutations!
CIG is releasing new features to Launcher 2.4 to the Live service today.
_________________________
Download Start Delay
- Upon signing in to the launcher, downloads will not start for 10 seconds. This delay is to ensure the user enough time to change universes before the automatic download starts.
_________________________
HTTP Transfer Mode
- This compatibility mode is available to users who are unable to use torrent at all to retrieve the game. It is slower than the torrent method for downloading, but downloads the same content. This may be useful for those on a restricted network, such as a university. This does not benifit from incremental differencing, so patching to a new version or verifying files will often result in a large re-download of the majority of the game.
- To enable this mode, edit your PatcherState file to have: downloadMethod = HTTP

Optimized P2P Settings
- Peer to per settings have been adjusted to run optimally for users with cable speed connections. P2P enabled should now be very similar to p2p disabled speed-wise.

Exposed P2P Settings
- For those who do not find default settings to be optimal, we have exposed options for power-users to modify. These options can be found in the _TorrentSettings file that's created on the launcher's first run. The launcher must be restarted for the settings to apply.
Available Settings:
active_downloads - Limit for simultaneous file downloads.
active_limit - Hard upper limit on downloads+seeds.
active_seeds - Limit for simultaneous files being seeded.
connections_limit - Limit on number of simultaneous torrent connections.
connection_speed - Number of connection attempts made per second.
max_peerlist_size - Maximum number of peers the launcher will keep track of at one time.
unchoke_slots_limit - Maximum number of slots that will remain open for peers regardless of their transfer rate.
