Starshatter - DLL files are missing

When you try to run Starshatter - The Gathering Storm game in a basic way, the error message appears, saying that the DLL files are missing.
You need to install DirectX 9.0c.
When the installation is finished, run the game again. You can now use starship to control and destroy the enemies.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean in your last post. What do you mean by running Starshatter in basic mode?? Also, the ability to control a starship has always been part of the game. Did you discover something new or am I just not understanding what you mean?

Not in a basic mode. I just got a new computer with Windows 7 installed. I downloaded Starshatter 5.0.5 in the Downloads section on this forum. I ran Starshatter and the error message said that DLL files are missing. So DirectX 9.0c must be installed to make the game work properly.
I hope I haven't made a mistake.

Oh, ok I understand now. I think I remember having that same problem when I first switched to Windows 7. Thanks for sharing!

I suspect the initial loading did not recognize that your computer had the required or higher DirectX version . Upon game restart, it did.
