Oh yeah... I've been on top of this concept craft from the first day. I like this heavy fighter. The Vanguard is a deep space or long range heavy fighter. I see you pledged for one already. I like the look of it.
From a video I saw, it has a retractable turret. Pretty nice.
I suspect it will have very fast top speed but not quick. I expect it to be very well armed and armored (durable). Its' stock weapons loadout seems pretty good. But, that isn't truly final yet.
The Vanguard is currently listed at 45,000 kg in weight. Pretty heavy.
The Redeemer Gungship comes in at 42,000 kg. Lighter than the Vanguard. Good armament.
The Super Hornet comes in at about 23,000 kg. Much lighter. Weight wise, the Hornet is a Medium fighter with great armament.
The Gladius comes in at about 16,000 kg. Lightest and as advertised a Light fighter/interceptor with good armament.
I suspect that the Hornet will out maneuver a Vanguard but not as much as the weights may suggest. Why? Two engine Vanguard. The Vanguard will probably out maneuver a Redeemer.
The cost is the only thing keeping me from getting one now. That, and having to wait for it to show up in my hangar. I still might break down and get one before the sale ends.
PU wise, I can foresee getting mauled by someone while exploring..... when and if I get back... I or my new character could be able to hop into a Vanguard and seek out the culprit for some 'eye for an eye' justice.
